When you are trying to figure what keywords are best to target for your business, try putting yourself in your potential customer’s shoes. What are all the ways and questions they might search to find what you offer? What are the pain points that would be solved for the customer by having purchased your product or service. Link building happens when you manage to get more links to your website from other sites than your competition. In other words if the spiders and crawlers see that there is a link to your website in 500 blogs it will increase your credibility compared to a website that only has 10 links linking to it. Google has told us for well over 10 years what is important to them and how to rank higher in search engines. Search engine optimization, while a very technical practice, is a marketing function—and it needs to be treated like one.
I urge you to think about quality
Google is looking for authoritative sites that are actual businesses that are getting legitimate visitors to their site. There are numerous different tactics that you can use, however these can be split into two categories: the ethical ‘white hat’ SEO strategies and the unethical ‘black hat’ SEO techniques. If your website or webpage suddenly or gradually changes focus over time (say from a carpentry guide to a best practice SEO guide – sounds unlikely, but you never know), then anchor text pointing to you will likely change in line with the different topic. Google may then decide that your page has changed so much that the old anchor text is no longer fresh and devalue those older links.
